Funmi Awelewa (Born October 12, 1993) is a Nigerian Actress, writer, and Movie Producer born in Ayeye Ibadan, Oyo State. She became popular as a result of the Yoruba movie she was featured in Titled “Omo Ibadan”. After that Movie, she was everybody started calling her Morili Sneh and Morili Omo Ibadan.

Morili Omo Ibadan means “I see an Ibadan Person”, which means she a recognized personality in Ibadan.

Her Mother, Mrs Awelewa used to sell “Agbo”, a traditional Herbal Medicine. Much is not know about her and other siblings.

Funmi had her Nursery education at Francis M Nursery and Primary school, Bodija Ibadan, while she completed her Secondary school at Orogun Grammar School, Akinyele, Oyo State.

She obtained her National Diploma in Library Archival and Information at the University of Ibadan (2007).

She also had a Bachelor’s Degree in the same course from the same institution after her diploma (2014).

Her course of study really helped to sharpen her writing career because it enabled her to study several Literary Materials.

Career

In 2013, Funmi Awelewa was luckily introduced to the Nollywood Industry by a Nigeria actress Sola Kosoko.

She made her first appearance in the Movie titled “So So Kenke” and she came to Limelight in 2014 in “Aromimawe”. This was her second Personal Movie as a Producer.

Funmi Awelewa was also mentored by Antar Laniyan.

In 2017, she starred as “Moriyeba” in the Yoruba Drama Film “Asotele,” directed by Muydeen Ayinde, and produced by actress, and producer Kikelomo Ayoola.

Personal Life

Funmi Awelewa is Happily married to Oluwatosin Adexteecy, a Nigerian Fashion Stylist who is originally from Ekiti State. Oluwatosin is also, KNOW AS Sexy Stell. They had a secret marriage on the 13^th of April 2021.

The couple is yet to be blessed with kid.

However, reports have it that she adopted a 5 years old boy on the Streets named Taju. The government of Oyo State, Nigeria also supported Funmi Awelewa in the child’s welfare.
