Alfonso Freeman was born at Country General Hospital in Los Angeles, CA and he grew up in Compton. He is the son of Morgan Freeman, A popular American Actor, producer, and Director.  He completed his high school education at Southern California Compton High School (1977) and briefly went to  University at California State University,  Long Beach as an art major.

Alfonso didn’t meet his wealthy father in person until 1984 when he came to Los Angeles to film The Atlanta Child Murders for television (1985). Their first encounter occurred over the phone in 1979, while Alfonso was working as a telemarketer. In 1982, Alfonso married for the first time and had three sons. Cynthia, his first wife, and he divorced in 1989. In 1994, he remarried to Larcenia (pronounced LAR-SEEN-YA) Young.

In the 2000 parody short film “The SharkTank Redemption,” Alfonso Freeman demonstrated his impressive comedic chops. He has also appeared in recurring roles on popular television shows such as “The West Wing” (2000), as well as guest roles on medical dramas such as “ER” (2001) and legal series such as “The Practice” (2002). You can catch him performing onstage or singing gospel music when he isn’t onscreen.
